Teaching

Zeger is a passionate, all-round teacher and trainer with consistent high evaluations from graduate students and participants in executive programs. He strives to achieve continuous teaching excellence. In this video, he explains his teaching philosophy.

He invests time and effort to improve his pedagogical skills and approaches, including the case teaching method, flipped classroom, blended learning, online education, and team teaching. In 2015 and 2016, Zeger completed the Harvard Business School Case Method Teaching Seminar Program. His efforts have been rewarded with the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy Annual Teaching Excellence Award (2014) as well as the NUS Annual Teaching Excellence Award (2015).

In recent years, Zeger has designed, coordinated, and taught modules in the Master of Public Policy (MPP), Master of Public Administration (MPA), and Master of Public Management (MPM) programs of the LKY School. In addition, he has designed and coordinated over 50 executive programs in over 15 countries, as well as PhD skills courses in the Netherlands and Singapore.

AY 2017-2018:

In the past 15 years, he has taught a variety of courses at the graduate, undergraduate, and executive level, as well as supervised Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD theses. Master thesis projects he supervised have won several prices and awards, including the Brasz Award 2010 for the best Dutch thesis in Public Administration (Anne Oosterbaan MSc), and the NBN Rabobank Master Thesis Award 2008 (Hester L. Paanakker, MSc).
